Evans is an audio scientist, engineer and producer. He studied for his PhD at the University of Glasgow and Manchester Metropolitan University. Bill has developed and deployed technology for dozens of iconic artists, including with his own band, Flying Colors.
PRISM opens DAW workflows to AI. It converts and translates raw audio into event-based data (i.e., MIDI) and related metadata. In this form, recorded audio can be parsed as hierarchical structures, and processed using LLMs. New classes of music and audio transformations are made possible, solving canonical problems with traditional music production.
PRISM has been in use since 2015, with artists such as Alice Cooper, Steve Vai and Deep Purple. It’s now presented publicly.
